Rimini, May 23, 2025 – The official 'yes' to the mega wind turbines planned for Tuscany but on the border with Romagna and Marche is still missing. But the wind is blowing that Tuscany will approve the Badia del vento plant (and others), planned just a few kilometers from Valmarecchia. The president of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, made it clear. The other evening on TV - on Teletruria - Giani said clearly: "We must reach 70% of energy from renewable sources within 5 years. Since the mayor of Badia Tedalda says 'yes', I don't see why I should prevent the construction of a system of wind turbines". And for this reason "I believe I can say 'yes' to Badia del vento - continued Giani - Then if something needs to be fixed, I have already given my availability to review the positioning and assembly conditions of the towers...". But "in principle - reiterated Giani - I agree".

All this despite the opposition to the project by the Emilia Romagna Region, with President Michele de Pascale who less than a month ago wrote to his colleague Gianni to ask him to stop everything. Because the Badia del Vento wind farm, with its 7 180-meter-high wind turbines, if built will have " significant negative impacts on the territory , the environment, the fauna and the landscape", wrote de Pascale to Giani. Many mayors, parliamentarians, committees and associations from Romagna have lined up against this and other projects (about ten wind farms proposed to the ministry for the Badia Tedalda area and its surroundings on the border with Romagna). But Giani seems intent on moving forward.

So much so that when asked on Thursday about Emilia Romagna's vetoes on the wind turbines, Giani replied: "Do we want renewable energy or not? In this country we talk a lot about renewable energy, but when it comes down to it we say: no there . I 'm not in the 'no' policy . If the conditions are right, I think I have to make some choices. Then you'll see that they'll thank us ...".

Giani's words have unleashed the ire of the committees . And not only that. Also because the companies that operate in the wind sector continue to present projects for the maxi blades in Badia Tedalda on the border with Valmarecchia. The latest one filed in chronological order with the ministry is Cactus wind. A plant with 7 wind generators, "with connection works - we read on the ministry website - to be built in the municipalities of Casteldelci, Verghereto, Badia Tedalda and Sestino.
